I'm so impressed with this one chef (Christine) on MasterChef 2012. She is blind, but creates the most amazing tasting and looking dishes on the show! I'm pulling for her to go all the way and become THE MasterChef!!!
I'm preparing for my youth group's Fall Dinner Theater, and one of my quests Wednesday was to find some good Catholic Pick-Up Lines!
Top 5 finds:
5. Is it hot in here or is that just the Holy Spirit burning inside of you?
4. I went on a mission trip this summer, but I ended up just 'missing' you.
3. You put the 'cute' in persecuted!
2. What's your name and number so I can add you to my prayer list?
and...
1. Hi, my name's Will. God's will!
just saw on pinterest! love it! |
Since I've been in Charlotte, I've been in search of a good young adult group. A long time ago I thought I had gotten lucky with the group at a Church across town (actually my new church this year), but things fell through after a few years because it wasn't going strong enough and the leader was engaged to be married and was planning the wedding with his future bride. Since then, I've been to approximately 5 or 7 different groups - the new one at my parish (awful), one in south Charlotte (not really my 'flavor'), a protestant one (they told me that Catholics might be in Heaven, but it would be in 'spite' of their religion not because of it), one at a friend's parish (it was really just my friends & me that we called the church's group), and a few more... SO, all that to say that we are going to try out a new group at St. Patrick's in Uptown tomorrow night. Fr. Miller is leading this and calling it Theology on the Vine...I'm really hoping that something great comes of it!
Went to a funeral on Thursday for a 54yr old man who passed away from a heart attack. I talked about that last week - he passed on Tuesday morning. I still cannot believe the tragedy that this new widow and fatherless children are going through. Father's homily was about us all being on this side of eternity seeing just the glimmer of the sun before the rising and Paul being in the full light of the Son! I liked how he said the best way to honor Paul (and any loved ones who have passed) is to 1) Live Our Faith and 2) Forgive one another. Definitely good words to live by!
Got my dresses in from Target.com today!!! They even fit! Can't wait to wear them - maybe even this weekend! :)
