Waiting for Patience

Happy Easter! The chains are broken and we live with the Resurrected Lord!! Alleluia!! Last evening I had the privilege of sponsoring a 17 year old girl at the Easter Vigil. She and her father were baptized, confirmed, and received the Eucharist for the first time. What an amazing experience to journey with this group of people into the church!   

What this post was going to be called: "Things You Learned in 2nd Grade and then Forgot (probably)" I think about these things a lot, probably more than I should.  Mostly every time I'm at Mass and am distributing communion.  Last week at our young adult Spirituality Group we were discussing something about how to receive communion regarding the communion rail at a neighboring parish we were going to be going to Adoration the following week.  It was then solidified that there are a LOT of things we were taught in 2nd grade when we first received communion that we were expected to retain for.ev.er!  There is no other time when this happens in our lives.  You're told something at the age of seven.  Then never reinforced again, not really.  Some Religious Education classes talk about the big things again, but since you learned it in 2nd grade, you don't need to really learn it again because there's more stuff to learn. I'm reminded of these things...

--- 1 --- I have spent the entire week recovering from last Saturday's smashing success at World Feast 2014 .  It was a LOT of work, but totally worth it!!!  I posted a few great ones on Instagram  on Saturday and was 'live posting' on Facebook all day to get people over to our campus ... and it must have worked because we had at least 1,000 people come to the FEAST.  Everyone had a blast, the food was amazing, and so many smiling faces!!!  That's why my Friday  takes are on Sunday  - either that or extreme laziness ... one or the other! --- 2 --- Oh, and my parents were here to visit last weekend as well - they brought me this: I had it tuned yesterday morning and am loving being able to play the piano again whenever I want - which I've never really been able to do, but alas, it's nice having a piano in my house - and the ability to play!  Makes it more of a home! --- 3 --- For about a month now I've been doing yoga ever...

--- 1 --- On Wednesday, Kendra posted this picture on Facebook: I thought it was an excellent source for inspiration as I prepare for the festival that is tomorrow at my parish.  There's so much to be done and so many people involved.  I have been having the hardest time keeping it together, being kind and charitable toward others, and making sure that I get the things done that I have to get done.  It's been touch and go, but on Wednesday I was able to actually remember this in those hard moments to prevent me from screaming aloud in my office all day long. --- 2 --- What would I have screamed?  Well, "The Ship is Sinking" would have been the first words out of my lips! --- 1 --- Well it's been a pretty crappy end of the week around here ... sorry for the language  but yesterday evening Mer, MG, my neighbors (so glad I finally got to meet some good neighbors who were incredible) and I spent the evening cleaning up sewage that came up my toilet spreading it's nastiness throughout the entirety of the downstairs of my house.  Yeah, you read that right - sewage.  It was a pretty terrible experience.  The floor looked alright, but you could feel squishing below and water would come right up from the seams even after you dried it.  Today a water restoration guy came out and now it looks like ... --- 2 --- Well, this: Downstairs Bathroom - the offending toilet was right there. Just a quick laugh for your Tuesday evening! Each week I import the homilies into my computer at work via iTunes before uploading them to our website for download by all.  If you've ever imported a CD into iTunes, you know that it suggests the title, artist info, and album name.  Sometimes I get some interesting suggestions and this afternoon's made me chuckle! iTunes' Suggestion: What I actually wanted to call it: Oh, Father Christian and his 'rappers delight' - it's so funny and he has no idea that is what I'll be thinking the next time I see him walk by my office and get a little chuckle! --- 1 --- Today is the beginning of MOVING WEEKEND!!!  Yeah!  I have spent the day preparing some stuff at the house.  For instance the carpets were professionally cleaned upstairs, the internet has been installed (PTL), and the couch and bed were delivered.  The couch being a bigger excitement than anything else because every time I've been over here before, I've been sitting on my homemade floor cushions and they are not as comfy as I first thought they would be.  Oh well, at least I have this couch now... --- 2 --- Yes I did purchase this orange couch - it was 53% off in the As-Is Section and I couldn't resist the sleeper sofa version of my FAVORITE IKEA couch, the KARLSTAD!  Which they are discontinuing this month!!!  So glad I didn't wait, would have been super disappointed! --- 3 --- Never fear though - a cover to make it this color is coming by FEDEX today!!! --- 4 --- At our parish we have this great event each mon...
