Waiting for Patience

Do you have children in your life? What is your relationship with them like? Do you have godchildren, and how do you form a relationship with them? I've been looking forward to this topic since coming back from the break - and then I just chilled on the couch last night (and Monday) instead of writing because I'm tired of computers most of the time!  But anyway - the children are my favorite topic! When I was a little girl all I wanted to be when I grew up was a mom or a teacher.  I was always playing house with my baby dolls (most of them are still in my parent's attic) and pretending to be a mommy.  I still look forward to the day when I can be a mom and have lots of little ones running around my house! --- 1 --- Well, today is Halloween - my absolute least favorite holiday.  It has nothing to with the devil, religious reasons, calling it 'all hallow's eve' or any like that.  It's actually because I don't like dressing up or acting like someone I'm not.  I can appreciate what Kendra has as a tradition with her children - super scary, super cool saints and Halloween costumes .  I am also excited to see all of the babies in my life dressed up in super cute costumes - Doug, a puppy, and an old man are in the works for today! --- 2 --- This week I had a chance to put some old pictures from CDs onto my computer and upload them up to my google photos ... check out some of these fun ones! If you've been reading, you know that I purchased a house last month, August 8th to be exact.  It was the result of my roommate moving back to Chicago and the rent in my area being a giant money pit I could no longer afford to play in.  So I went house shopping and made an offer on the 2nd one I saw.  After all the crazy that's been the past month, I still think I chose the best option I saw.  I like the layout, I enjoy the neighborhood, and the location is perfect for me from work.  No one could guarantee I would have the same or different issues at another place.  This one was the best price for the area to keep the mortgage at an amount I can afford on my church salary. So I cleaned it that first weekend - just preparing the house to be moved into and it looked like this! 1. The Blue Bedroom 2. The Amazing Kitchen,  3. The Purple Living Room 4. School starts this week for those ages 3 to 23 (and beyond).  When I was in the Village in the Congo, I went to many a school.  They welcomed me with a parade, told me how happy they were to have me, and then I visited their classrooms to answer any questions they wanted to ask. Each school was set up the same.  Elementary schools were grades 1 to 6, High Schools were grades 7 to 12, and they had a local college that operated a little differently (mostly since there were so few people enrolled).  The schools had two buildings with three rooms for the 6 classes.  All of the 1st graders were in one room, 2nd graders in another, 3rd, 4th, etc, etc...  Between the two buildings was a large area with the principal's building in the middle (much smaller than the other two). Oh how I love when I import my pics from my phone to my new chromebook and this comes out! This is Lucy - she's three (and this pic is from right around her birthday in May actually), and she is just the cutest!  Last week she was at our parish's Totus Tuus program and she is just the cutest - well to be fair the rest in her family are also adorable, but I don't have pics from them ... so just some written love!
